Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is a Prescription Assistance Program (PAP)?Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs) provide free or low cost prescription medicine to low income people who meet qualification guidelines and do not have prescription insurance. Most are provided by pharmaceutical companies who manufacture the medicine. Who is EasyRxHelp.com?EasyRxHelp.com is a personal advocate service that helps qualified patients access their brand name medications for free or little cost from the drug companies. Since PAPs are not regulated, each drug company has its own qualifications, forms, processes for refills, rules for re-qualifying, and hoops you have to go through to access and remain in their program. It is confusing, complicated, fragmented, and time-consuming! And there are constant changes to drug companies’ forms and rules, making it very difficult for patients to do it on their own, which is why so many patients choose to use our service. Who can benefit from this program? This program is intended for low income families struggling to pay for their prescription medications who can save money by using our service. What if I am enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan?If you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan and in the Medicare Part D Gap, or “Donut Hole”, you may still qualify for this program with most drug manufacturers. If you are near or in the Donut Hole, enroll online to see if we can help. If we cannot help you, you will not be charged. What if I have a discount card or a pharmacy card?Typically you can save the most money by using your discount or pharmacy card where it is beneficial and use our program for brand name medications. Enroll online to see if we can help. If we cannot help you, you will not be charged. What if my prescription insurance won’t pay for my medication? If you have a brand name prescription your insurance company has denied paying for email us your specifics at info@easyrxhelp.com to see if we can help. If we cannot help, you will not be charged. Is your program insurance? No, this is not an insurance product nor affiliated with any Medicare, state, or governmental programs. How many medications will you help me with?We will help you with as many medications as possible for the same low monthly service fee. There is no limit! Once I have signed my forms am I officially qualified and in the program? Each drug company determines approval for their PAP. If a drug company denies you, they will notify you or your doctor. Notify your Personal Advocate immediately if you receive a denial letter as an appeal may be necessary to get qualified. If you do not qualify and we cannot save you money, your money will be refunded. See our refund policy for details. What if I am not taking all medicines my doctor prescribed? We understand that many patients cannot afford all their prescribed medicine and have resorted to not getting all their prescriptions filled, cutting pills, or taking medications less often than they should. We certainly want you to be as healthy as you can by taking all the medicine you need! Please list all medications you should be taking on your enrollment application exactly as prescribed by your doctor(s). You do not need to list generics you do not need assistance with. How should I answer Number of People in Household and Income for Household? In order to qualify for any prescription assistance programs all of the pharmaceutical manufacturers have income guidelines they adhere to. The intent of these programs is to be a last resort for those patients who do not have an insured prescription drug benefit and those that meet the strict income guidelines. Most of the companies will set their guidelines at 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or below in order to qualify for their prescription assistance programs. For purposes of determining whether or not your income meets the guidelines, you first need to determine how many people are in your household. This is determined by a spouse and any dependents that are claimed or would be claimed on your federal tax return, if you filed. If you did not file a tax return, then the number of people in the household would include your spouse and any dependents that rely upon you principally for support. This would not include relatives who file their own tax return or dependent grandchildren who are claimed on their parent’s tax return, or friends of the family who are staying with you. Once you have figured out the number of people in the household, then it is easy to see whether or not you pre-qualify for prescription assistance, based upon the Federal Poverty Level chart. Remember, income limits vary by drug company. If we cannot help you, you will not be charged. If you still have questions on whether or not you would qualify for prescription assistance, you can complete the enrollment forms and submit them to us, email us at info@easyrxhelp.com, or call us toll free at 877-445-6009, and you will be contacted by one of our advocates to help determine your eligibility in our prescription assistance program. What if I need help with my diabetic supplies?Abbott Diabetes Care provides free FreeStyle Flash Meter Blood Glucose Monitoring System, FreeStyle Blood Glucose Monitoring System, or Precision Xtra Blood Glucose and Ketone Monitoring System, Strips, and Lancets to those eligible for their program. You need to be prescreened for an application directly by Abbott by calling them toll-free at 866-224-8887. Abbott will require that you have applied to Medicaid, been denied, have no prescription insurance, and meet their income guidelines. They will have you send a completed application with a doctor's note about testing requirements, proof of income, and a denial letter from Medicaid. What if I only need temporary help?We certainly understand special circumstances that may cause you to need assistance on a temporary basis, such as unemployment, and we are more than happy to assist you during your time of need. Complete an online enrollment application to see if you qualify. We will not charge you if we cannot help you. Do I have to be a US resident to enroll in your program?Yes, you must be a US resident to qualify with most drug companies. What does your service cost? There is an enrollment fee of $50 due at time of enrollment, which covers initial setup costs to get you going in the EasyRxHelp.com program. Then approximately one month later your monthly service fee charge will begin, which is a low $50 per month for as many brand name medications as we can help you with. This keeps you going in the program and covers processing of your refills, re-qualification, and any changes. If we cannot help you, we will not charge you. See our refund policy for details. Where will my medications be shipped?Your medications are shipped directly from the drug companies and they determine where your drugs will be shipped. Most ship to your doctor’s office, some ship directly to your home, and there are a few exceptions. Drug companies cannot ship drugs to PO Boxes, so please ensure you provide a complete and deliverable street address. If your address is undeliverable, your medications will be shipped to your doctor’s office. Do I need to do anything to get my refills? No. Your Personal Advocate will process your refills for you ahead of time so you will have your next shipment prior to running out of your current supply. IMPORTANT: If you receive any correspondence from a drug company, notify your Personal Advocate immediately. He/she is there to take care of it for you! Once I’m in a drug company’s PAP, how long am I approved for? Most drug companies will approve you for one full year at a time. Others approve you for three or six months at a time. With our service, you have no worries because we will automatically handle it for you whenever you need to be re-qualified with a drug company. What forms of payment do you accept?Keeping your fees as low as possible is of utmost importance to us. To participate in our program we can accept any one of the following: credit card, debit card, bank draft from checking account, or bank draft from savings account. What changes do you need to know about?Notify your Personal Advocate immediately to inform us of any of the following changes so we can keep your program information up-to-date and continue to provide you with the correct medication:
How do I cancel the service? We know how critical getting your medication is, so would never want to cancel someone out of our program and stop processing their refills without written notification from the patient for our patients’ own protection. If you wish to cancel our service we need a minimum of 14 days notice in writing prior to the next billing cycle due to processing time for our banking systems. Please submit your written notice of cancellation including the patient’s address, telephone, social security number (to verify we are cancelling the right patient), reason for cancelling, and the patient’s signature to your Patient Advocate. NOTICE: Do not attempt to cancel by revoking charges to your account as you will be held responsible for fees we are charged by our banking systems as well as your service fees due prior to receipt of your written cancellation. What is your policy on refunds? If we cannot save you money, we do not want you to pay for our service because we are here to help. We will refund your money if you do not qualify for the PAP programs that result in a savings for you, assuming you provided us complete and accurate information. You may request a refund by submitting all the denial letters from the drug companies involved within 120 days of enrolling in our program to your Personal Advocate. NOTICE: Do not revoke charges to your account as you will be held responsible for fees we are charged by our banking systems. What do I do with my unused medications that I don’t need anymore?Except for some specific, unopened packages, most medications cannot be redistributed, and you cannot give another person your prescription medicine as it is illegal. Flushing unused medicine down the toilet is causing concern about traces of medicine in the water supply. We suggest checking with your local pharmacy or government to see if they addressed this problem as some communities have established pharmaceutical take-back programs. What if I have questions? Who can I contact? Please email your questions in detail to info@easyrxhelp.com. A Personal Advocate will respond with answers to ensure you fully understand our program. We are here to help! |
